The Museum of Friesland brought M.C. Escher back to his hometown Leeuwarden. In Escher's Journey you follow his development from a graphic designer to a world-famous artist.
We were asked by XPEX, designers of the exhibition, to make large prints for the walls, as well as a video installation zooming in on the Metamorphoses.
Also the informative layer is designed by us. It exists of wall typography and multilingual handout booklets.
The aim was to create a system that is so clear, that you hardly notice it is there
Imitating the master -especially with Escher- is something that seemed far too easy
