Doornburgh

Doornburgh

A former monastry, situated by the Vecht, Maarssen, Doornburgh is nowadays a place for reflection. Art and science come together in this mindfull green place.

MBE Erfgoed Groep asked us to develop communication elements to give the place a new face and make visual what would be happening there in the future to come.
In response we made a wide collection of communication assets for Doornburgh. Varying from a typographic ID, to a website, exhibition typography, campaign (image)s, to a tapestry showing the future of the monastry in transition.

The identity is all about going back to the essence of things. Buitenplaats Sans, was designed especially for Doornburgh: a bespoke typeface. The design process focuses on giving the place a light and subtle identity, bright communication, with a lot of air, to let the location speak for itself.
